  1. Feeling
Between all the clutter, mess and chaos; I want to create a happy place for the children. A place for them to go, not just because their parents are unable to watch them during the day, but a place they can get away from everything that is bad and just be happy!
I want to create an atmosphere for them to believe in their selves and believe in life and the future.
I need them to feel warmth and safe, and colour. Lots and lots of colour!
The building should also accommodate their recent activities, like soccer, rugby, cricket and “aan-aan”. I don’t want that to fade away. It is important for children to play together indoor and outdoor as well.
    Building
I don’t want to place just another building on the site that has no meaning. I also don’t want the building to outshine the residents and make then feel uncomfortable. The crèche should blend in, almost feel part of the existing play park.
Use natural materials, make it part of the landscape.
The children should be able to play on top of the building as well, not just inside and outside. The idea of more than one building can also accommodate the play area feeling.
On a more literal side and also just an idea, that building itself could look like blocks and toys or if not, just get a design concept from it.
    Safety
Children should feel safe without spanning fences around them. Might use trees, buildings, walls, heights and courtyards (accommodate into design).
The site already has a natural enclosement from trees, separating the site from the street.
The dip just before the road, also shows division.
    Movement
The placing and entrance to building should accommodate the people’s movement; for the parents to drop off their children easily. Things like the taxi’s, train, road and existing walk paths should be considered. As well as places on the road, like school, church, clinic and library, to accommodate convienice.
